New Frontier Hotel Implosion on the Las Vegas strip. $6 billion Mega Resort to replace it.

The New Frontier Hotel on the Las Vegas strip was imploded at 2:30 am on November 13th, 2007.  More importantly, this signifies a MAJOR change to the north section of the resort corridor.  Everything you’ve been hearing just got shifted into high-gear.Out of approximately $30 billion worth of new hotel and luxury condo development on Las Vegas Boulevard, roughly $20 billion of it is happening between Spring Mountain Road and Sahara Ave.  Projects like The Plaza Hotel (get on our VIP interest list), Echelon, Shangri-La, Mondrian, Encore at Wynn, Venetian Palazzo, Sky Las Vegas, Fontainebleau, Trump International and the future MGM MIRAGE projects at Sahara and LV Blvd. could possibly transform this once desolate section into the Beverly Hills of the strip.

An opulence never before seen is how Elad Properties, the developers of the $6-8 billion The Plaza Hotel are describing their entrance into Sin City.  This should be interesting to see as the current king is MGM MIRAGE CityCenter. In a city made famous for constantly one-upping itself, can Elad Properties truly set a higher standard than projects like The Harmon Hotel, Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Vdara, Veer Towers, The Crystals retail, and the main CityCenter resort casino hotel?
